So I had the pleasure of meeting this person who gave me an opportunity to explore my intellectual reading side. For the sake of this blog, let’s call this guy “Jared”. Jared turned me on to this book titled “FISH”. I suggest anyone who has any issues about where they are in life or what they are doing in life read this book. With the other GED being the focal point in mainstream conversation (General Economic Downtown), it may behoove us all to focus on the fact that we have our health; a job albeit it underemployment or worse non-intellectualized office bound; and our mortgage/rent is paid off at least until next month.

However, I was reminded recently of how easy it is to get caught up with a world where familiarity breeds contempt. Co-workers so eager to make their 7a-4p so breathable that they allow themselves to be embattled in a head-space they are renting out to non-paying ignorant squatters. No matter how hard we “FISH”, we also need to remember to understand the pool we are fishing and watch out for predators looking to steal your catch of the day.

In less than a week, stories of people saying things about one’s heritage, ethnicity, work-capability, nationality .... and that was less than a week. But to keep your head-space clean, I suggest you NIP IT IN THE BUD. Let your fellow FISH MONGERS know your rules and you in turn respect theirs. And while you are doing that, make sure you turn the pages of “WHO MOVED MY CHEESE”.

Understand we know you are smart; understand we know that what you are doing now may not have been your first choice; understand we know that you deserve and want more - bump what anyone else may think. For now, you are doing what you need to do LEGALLY and you are going to FISH your way to freedom.

What’s freedom to you?

Interesting first eleven days for 2010. Without boasting about what is happening in one single life, let me say that never think small about the seeds you planted in previous years. I’m not big on using words you would hear a Bentley-driven-pastor harp about from his ivory pulpit but I will say that 2010 is definitely a year of Harvest. Even if you were one of those people who didn’t quite get it right last year, make this year of seeding a fertile ground. It can be easier said that done but just know you aren’t alone in the thoughts that you want more and feel like you should be further along in your career. 2007-2009 were rough for most of the country. However, don’t forget about those seeds you planted. All those resumes you put out there; all those connections you forged; all those classes you took? They were not in vain. This year, pay attention to your harvest and take educated chances.

If you have to relocate, then do so in order to move forward. Time waits for no one.

Until next time, take care and smooches.

Victory

P.S. Sir Broadway is allowing me more blog posting this year.

So, it’s been a little while since I last pawed. But I’ve been busy trying to make arrangements for my owner to take me with her on her upcoming appearance on the West Coast. I think we are headed to some Boulder place. I don’t know where it is but it sounds like a great place to hike up my leg. Anyway, I appreciate the love that you gave me on my previous Bark-post. Today my human mom took me to these kennels that looked really fun. I’ll have to review and get back to you with pictures. In the meantime, remember I do interviews with a signature Woof. Sniff you later.

I’m Sir Broadway and I’m Victory’s beloved pet who likes to drive her crazy. Thought I would drop this note because we would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the site. Our last site was taken down to make room for more updated content and more updated photos of me and my friends. As always, my owner says that inappropriate comments will be deleted and a no-no to real potty mouths. Remember to follow Victory on Twitter and also if you would like to get in touch with her Manager Brother X, follow him on Twitter or email brotherx@victorywaters.com. And if you want to contact me with a cool doggie recipe, just comment here.

{p.s. Don’t forget I act and love to do tricks so throw a dog a bone with an acting gig. Love to make back my kibbles n’bits money. Cheers!}
